Step 1: Read Instructions
Read the instructions in its entirety before starting, to ensure your top and bottom impressions are deep and accurate for us to make your Grillz. After you have read the instructions, carefully follow each step
Step 2: Brush Your Teeth and Wash Your Hands
- Brushing for three minutes.
- Flossing all your teeth
- Rinse. Use mouthwash.
- Wash your hands.
Step 3: Test The Tray
- Cover your teeth. Pull your lips back, you should not see your teeth over the top of the plastic lip.
- Pulling your cheek to the side with a "hooked finger" will make it easier to fit larger trays.
- Feel roomy. The tray shouldn't pinch your teeth when it's empty, so there should be room for the putty. If the tray is too narrow, your teeth will scrape the side walls of the tray..
- Fit both front and back. Your back teeth shouldn't hang out over the back of the tray.
If your trays feel too small or too large, contact us before you get started with your impressions, we will send a new tray..
Step 4: Mix Your Putty
Only make one impression at a time, if you need to make a top and bottom impression, do them separately.
- Empty both the white and colored putty into your hands.
- Set a timer for 30 Seconds and press start.
- Mash the two colors together until the putty is one solid color. Stop mashing when the timer sounds at 30 seconds..
- Roll into a ball
Step 5: Shape Putty Into Log Place In Tray
After rolling it into a ball, make it into a log. Bend the log-shaped putty like in the photo below.
Place putty into the tray as shown below.
Step 6: Take Your Impression
Top Impression
- Align. Find the center of the tray, and line up your center teeth with that space.
- Push up with your thumbs. Push your tray into the teeth until the putty covers your gumline. Stop before the bottom of your teeth hit the tray. (See Photo)
- DO NOT BITE DOWN !!! Use your thumbs and press upward.
- Center. Ensure both sides of your teeth are pushed evenly into the putty.
- Pull your upper lip up and over the edge of the tray.
Set timer for 3.5 minutes or 210 seconds.
As you wait for the putty to harden, you may rest your jaw and gently close your mouth, but don't clench your teeth or apply pressure. If you clench your teeth, the putty will shift and become distorted.
Remove the trays early, and you won't have a firm impression. Leave the putty on too long, and it's hard to remove.
