STEP 1: BRUSH YOUR TEETH AND WASH HANDS

Even if you brush twice a day, you should brush before you make your impression.

  • Brushing for two minutes.
  • Flossing all your teeth
  • Rinse. Use mouthwash.
  • Wash your hands.

STEP 2: SELECTION TRAY SIZE

Test the two tray sizes (large and medium) that come with your kit. If you have a top and bottom tray, test each of them separately.   While they might not be comfortable, the right tray will:
  • Cover your teeth. Pull your lips back, you should not see your teeth over the top of the plastic lip.
  • Pulling your cheek to the side with a "hooked finger" will make it easier to fit larger trays.
  • Feel roomy. The tray shouldn't pinch your teeth when it's empty, so there should be room for the putty. If the tray is too narrow, your teeth will scrape the side walls of the tray..
  • Fit both front and back. Your back teeth shouldn't hang out over the back of the tray.

If your trays feel too small or too large, contact us before you get started with your impressions, we might need to send a new set sent to you.

    STEP 3: MIX THE PUTTY

Only make one impression at a time. If you need to make a top and bottom impression, do them separately.

    1. Empty both the white and colored putty into your hands.
    2. Set a timer for 30 Seconds and press start.  After 40-45 seconds, the putty will start to harden, making it difficult to take an impression.
    3. Mash the two colors together until the putty in your hands is one solid color..
    4. Roll it into a ball

STEP 4: SHAPE PUTTY INTO LOG

After rolling it into a ball, make it into a log shape. Than bend the log-shaped putty like in the photo below. Than Place The Putty into the tray

            STEP 5: TAKE YOUR IMPRESSION

Please read the section(s) that pertains to grillz you want made, if you need a top grillz read the Top Impression, for bottom grillz read Bottom Impression, for a full set, read BOTH.

            Top Impression

            • Align. Find the center of the tray, and line up your center teeth with that space.
            • Push up with your thumbs. Push your tray into the teeth until the putty covers your gumline. Stop before the bottom of your teeth hit the tray. (See Photo)
            • DO NOT BITE DOWN !!! Use your thumbs and press upward.
            • Center. Ensure both sides of your teeth are pushed evenly into the putty.

            • Pull your upper lip up and over the edge of the tray.

Set timer for 3.5 minutes or 210 seconds.

As you wait for the putty to harden, you may rest your jaw and gently close your mouth, but don't clench your teeth or apply pressure. If you clench your teeth, the putty will shift and become distorted.

Remove the trays early, and you won't have a firm impression. Leave the putty on too long, and it's hard to remove.

            Bottom Impression

            • Align. Find the center of the tray, and line up your center teeth with that space.
            • Press down with your thumbs. Press the tray into the teeth until the putty covers your gumline. Stop before the bottom of your teeth hit the tray. (See Photo)
            • DO NOT BITE DOWN with you upper teeth!!! Use your thumbs and press the tray downward.
            • Center. Ensure both sides of your teeth are pushed evenly into the putty

            • Pull your bottom lip down and then up over the edge of the tray.

Set a timer for 3.5 minutes or 210 seconds.

             STEP 6: REMOVE THE TRAY

Press against the putty to see if it has fully hardened. If the putty is still mushy, wait another 30-40 seconds.  If you remove the impression too early, the putty will become warped if you try to remove it.

Grip the tray handle, and slowly pull downward on the top tray or lift upward on the bottom tray

            STEP 7: INSPECTION IMPRESSION
